Our Story
S2 Cyber Security Services began as a simple conversation between two colleagues who spotted a significant gap in the IT compliance landscape. Drawing from their diverse backgrounds, which ranged from e-commerce, fintech, hedge funds, to military, credit unions, and mining, they recognized a common issue. Most organizations’ IT departments were swamped with the challenges of maintaining their existing infrastructure, introducing new technologies and trying to tackle the ever-growing list of technical debt.
What became evident was that many of these IT teams lacked the specialized knowledge required for comprehensive cybersecurity compliance. Whilst they also lacked the financial resources to expand the headcount and bring these skills and experience in-house. They also observed that many service providers offered risk or gap assessments but left the organizations the challenge of solving these gaps after handing over a report. This approach only added more pressure to already stretched IT departments.
In response, S2 envisioned a different approach – a company that not only conducted assessments but also played an active role in guiding remediation efforts and maintaining compliance frameworks (ISO,PCI etc). They saw the need for a partner who could collaborate with third party auditors, aiding in evidence collection and submission.
